1   Adult/Regional - info for editors
The editors of Adult/Regional are trying to maintain a coherent and logical structure in this category and what follows are our ideas on this. These are not fixed rules and discussion on them is always welcomed.
What follows is a brief description of how we have been trying to organize things. If you edit within Adult/Regional, we would be grateful if you could follow these guidelines, or contact us if you think anything should be changed. We are very eager to have input on how A/R can be improved.
For general guidelines, see the FAQ for the Adult category.
1.1   Q: Structure.
A: Within the lowest regional cats, we have tried to maintain a coherent naming of subcats over the entire Adult/Regional hierarchy to make things easier (hopefully!) for ODP users. These subcats (existing and suggested for the future) are:
  • Amateurs
  • Bars and Clubs
  • BDSM, with a Dominatrix subcat
  • Brothels
  • Escorts (divided further into Female, Male, Male/Gay, etc)
  • Guides
  • Massage
  • Hotels and Resorts
  • Saunas
  • Shopping
  • Strippers
  • Swingers
For reasons of coherence, I ask that you stick to these names unless you have a good reason to change them.

2   Final notes
No one wishes to lay down laws on the structure of Adult/Regional nor on how individual sites are described. However, it is useful to the users of the ODP to have a coherent structure and nomenclature (eg, if someone has been seeing 'gay' all over the place, it would be incoherent if (s)he suddenly found 'queer' in one regional cat).

For this reason, if you have ideas on improvements or changes, please contact the editors listed for Adult/Regional so that it can be discussed, perferably in the Adult forum so that other can give their input. This applies especially to the creation of subdivisions of current cats which would have an effect over all of Adult/Regional.

In closing, our goal is to provide users of the ODP with the best directory there is. This implies both quality and quantity. Add as many sites as you can, following the above guidelines. Take the time to give back to the Internet community what it is giving to you.
