If your site is specific to a particular area of New York (like New York City only, Western New York, etc.), please find the category for the correct locality, rather than submitting it here - this will get your site listed a LOT quicker.

Please submit according to the following:
Title should be the name of the organization, band or web page. Please avoid using unusual punctuation or the words "Home Page", etc.

Description should include two things - the purpose of the site (usually the function of the organization), and a brief description of what a visiting user would find on the site. Avoid opinion, hype, abbreviations, and repetition of the title.

A collection of sites dealing with Music in New York State as a whole.

Bands and Artists

If your band does not perform statewide, please submit to the locality category.

Submitting to the wrong category will delay and/or prevent your site from being listed in the directory.

Submission Tips:

  1. When writing your site's title please ensure it is the same as your organization.
  2. When writing your site's description, please tell what your site offers in a clear and concise statement without hype or promotional language.

Concerts and Events

This category is for one-time or reoccurring/annual concerts and musical events.
Please send only completed sites about music related concerts or events in New York state to this category.

Sites about Clubs or Venues should be submitted to Arts/Music/Clubs_and_Venues. Any such site will not be listed, so please do not submit them here.

Fan sites with tour schedules for a specific artist should be sent to that artist's category in Bands and Artists.

Also, if your site is not in the English language, do not submit it here. Submit it to the appropriate subcategory within the main World category instead.

DJs

If a wider range of styles is performed, please submit to the higher-level category. Also, if your operational area is restricted to an area of the state, please submit to that area, rather than this level.

To get your site listed the quickest, please follow these tips:

Title

  • This should be the name of the DJ or company.
  • If a person's name, please write in the form Lastname, Firstname

Description:

  • Please describe the styles of music played, and where you are based
  • Please describe what a visiting user can find on the site (sound clip, photographs, set lists, etc)
  • Please avoid using abbreviations, opinion, and marketing hype
A collection of sites dealing with businesses providing a DJ service throughout the State of New York. This will also include Karaoke services.

For regional categories focused on specific musical styles or genres, and links to similar categories in Arts/Music.
