I´m Eduardo Almeida Reis, from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I earn a living as a consultant for IT and Business Technology issues, now proudly working overtime to advance the use of Open Source software by the government. My involvement with computers and the Internet dates from Altair 8080 and BITNET times ( yes, I´m that old ) :-)

My Interests Here
I chose one of my passions, Brazilian Music, all of it, from the sublety of Bossa Nova to the earthly and visceral sounds of Forró.

Why I Am Here
Firstly, I am a firm believer ( read: real sucker ) in volunteer work for greater-than-life causes, from GNU/Linux to SETI@home ( a quick search on my nickname will reveal almost all of them ). Secondly, I've found that the Portuguese language is surprisely underrepresented here. Maybe I could make a difference. :-)
