Andrew Schleicher is a writer living in Nashville, Tenn. In June 2002, he received a Master of Science in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., and he received a Master of Divinty from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary, also in Evanston, in 2006. On May 24, 2004, Andrew was commissioned as a probationary clergy member of the Detroit Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.

At Medill, Andrew joined with 17 classmates in creating Renew magazine for home improvement with a city style.

While attending Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, Michigan, Andrew was blessed with the opportunity to spend six months studying in Kenya, East Africa. Andrew received from Kalamazoo College a B.A. in Mathematics and International and Area Studies with a focus on Africa.

Andrew is committed to social justice and interested in bringing a religious perspective to advocacy and current events. He is also interested in the examination on how works of fiction (particularly science fiction and fantasy books and movies) elicit religious ideas and other commentary on society. Andrew is a certified Christian communicator in the United Methodist Church.
